She was a Business Analyst for Rite Aid Corporation, Etters and was earning her college degree at Central Pennsylvania College, Summerdale. She was born in Detroit, MI to the late Charles and Victoria (Stabinski) Majewski. She is survived by her husband Gerald A. Walters; a brother Mark Majewski and wife Debbie Parpart of Detroit, MI; a sister Pamela Majewski and husband Jeff Pomaville of Detroit, MI; two nieces and a nephew, Kimberly, Kristy and Eric; she was a cherished niece of Helen Stabinski and husband Mike Millsap of Homosasa, Florida; and leaves behind her two faithful canines, Chewy and Tasha. WEBB ROSALIE WEBB Of East Lansing, formerly of Ferndale, MI and Clearwater, Florida. Born June 5, 1910 to Rose and Lee Johnston, of Columbus, Ohio, Rosalie Webb has passed away peacefully at the age of 98 with her loving family by her side. Rosalie graduated from Ohio State University in 1931 with a "Pre-med" degree. She lead an active life as a founder of the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Church in Southfield, Michigan, as national officer of the American Association of Unitarian Universalist Women, President of the Oakland Branch American Association of University Women, and served as the Deputy Director of the State Department of Social Services in Oakland County, where she retired in 1974. Rosalie and her beloved husband, Baxter, enjoyed traveling, visiting friends, and participated in over 30 Elderhostels. Rosalie was an avid letter writer and a staunch Democrat. She was world travelled and a role model to many who knew her. She claimed the secret to her long life was move often, always have something to look forward to, and eat lots of beans. Indeed she was known for "Rosalie's famous baked beans". Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kenneth Johnston of Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, Baxter Webb of East Lansing; daughter, Suzanne (Robert) Brook of East Lansing; son, James J. (Janet) Blanchard of Beverly Hills, MI; step-son, Douglas Snyder of FL; grandchildren, Jeffrey R. (Mary Ellen) Brook of Toronto, Canada, Martin C. (Cathleen) Brook of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Robert D. (Dina) Brook of Canton, MI, and James J. WENGER DAVID K WENGER DAVID WENGER Of Naples, Florida, passed away on December 27, 2008. Born in Flint, Michigan, on December 13, 1923, Dave was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria (nee Krogman), son Michael, and brother Ralph. He is survived by son David (Carolyn) Wenger, of Detroit, Michigan, and daughters Sue (Bob) Carling, of Livermore, California, and Anne (KC) Wenger-Hornbach, of Naples, Florida; grandchildren Michael (Stephanie) Wenger, Steve (Piper) Carling, Matt (Stacy) Carling, Chris (Kristy) Carling, and Alexis Wenger; and great-grandchildren Lauren, Chelsea, Michael, and Alexander Wenger; Demri Carling and Samantha Carling. Additional survivors include sister Shirley DeHority of Syracuse, New York, and sister-in-law Jean Wenger of Palos Verdes Estates, California. Dave was a former business leader in telecommunications (Michigan Bell, AT&T, Ameritech) and a veteran of World War II. Since retiring, Dave resided in Naples, and summered in Harbor Springs, Michigan until 2002, when he became a full-time Naples resident. Dave had many passions: golfing, playing the piano, walking the beach, and reading among them. Dave served as an Elder and Deacon in various Presbyterian churches where he worshiped. He was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. He had many charitable interests, including The PGA Foundation. For the past 5 years, Dave was a reading volunteer at Osceola Elementary School in Naples. Recently he said about his volunteer work there, "I don't know how much I do for them, but the kids sure do a lot for me!" His family and many friends will remember the quick wit, smile, discipline, and high standards that defined his entire life. Private services have been held. He was an artist and enjoyed oil painting and sculpture. Pat wrote a Sci Fi thriller called 'Thaw' in more recent years and had it published and sold in shops country-wide. He loved golf and boating on Fonda Lake in Brighton. Always the life of the party. Basically...he loved life! He was President of Henry McCurry Insurance Company in Southfield for many years and was a salesman extraordinaire. As a medic in WWII he saved not only American soldiers' lives but German soldiers. He received the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct medal and one for faithful service along with combat stars. He turned down the Silver Star stating "...I'm only doing my job..." II, serving in the US Army. He was formerly co-owner of Inter-Lakes Steel Products of White Lake and was a partner in several developments in Holly. He was a member of Hulet-Bravender Post #5587 VFW, Amel Schwartz Post # 149 American Legion, and the Holly Kiwanis Club. Surviving are his wife, Janet; three children, Linda (Craig) Essmann of Fenton, Rene (David) Tinsman of Rockford, and Gary (Marilyn) Wolverton of Fenton; six grandchildren, Matthew Essmann, Kelly Pushman, Adam Tinsman, Avory Tinsman, Logan Wolverton, and Jamie Wolverton; two great grandchildren, Carter and Cole Essmann; two sisters, Helen Morey of Swartz Creek and Margaret Smith of Swartz Creek; and brother Dick Wolverton of Linden. WOOD ANDREW C WOOD ANDREW WOOD Age 94, retired Judge of the Detroit Traffic Court, died on December 9, 2008. A native Detroiter, he had attended the University of Michigan and received his law degree from Detroit College of Law in 1939. After serving in the Navy during World War II, he practiced law and worked in the Traffic Court as clerk, referee and then, from 1963 to 1979, as Judge. In retirement, he lived in Tequesta, Florida. Judge Wood was a member of Redford Masonic Lodge, Detroit Commandery K.T. #1, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a former vestry member and Warden of All Saints Episcopal Church, Detroit. He was preceded in death in 1986 by his wife of 47 years, Gertrude Murphy Wood; and is survived by his son, Andrew C. Wood Jr. of Detroit, his daughter, Mary W. Schrope; five grandchildren, Jennifer W. Marotte (Daniel), Andrew C. Wood III, Elizabeth M. Wood, Thomas R. Schrope and Stephen H. Schrope (Leigh), and also by three great-grandchildren, Alexander and Lauren Marotte and Charles Schrope.
