GAUGHAN PATRICK GAUGHAN December 20, 2008, age 87 of the Detroit area. Beloved husband of the late Henrietta. Father of the late Thomas and Frank. Survived by his brother, Bill, his children, Joseph, Anne, Theresa, John, Mary, Paul and Eileen; grandchildren, Iyatho, Clare, Shannon and Rosa; and great-grandchildren, Maya and Ariana. Of his many enthusiasms, Pat was most known for his love of family, cars and travel. After serving in the Army Air Corps in Europe in WWII, Pat worked in product planning at Ford for 30 years and raised nine children in Detroit with Henrietta. In his later years, he traveled to more than 20 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America. Most precious and adored father of Michele (Andy) Elrod; wonderful partner of 18 years, best friend and husband to Jeanne Rymarz; two precious grandchildren, Elisabeth and Lucas Elrod (that were his heart and soul); and most loved father to Marianne Ehlinger, Nathan, and Jessica Rymarz. Rick is survived by his loving parents, Helen and Steve Simon, the Teasdales of Wixom, and Don Nelson, his best friend who was like a brother to him. Rick joined the Army after high school, worked for the Pentagon, was moved to Germany, traveled extensively throughout Europe. Rick was the smartest, most intelligent, caring and honorable man who will be truly missed by the ones who were by his side until the bitter end of his last breath. Doris taught 2nd grade at Treadwell Elementary School in Inkster. She married Bud Grace in 1939. During World War II, she worked in San Diego as a "Rosie the Riveter." After the War, they moved to Florida and raised their first two sons. In 1958 the family moved to Livonia to go into the restaurant business. They operated Daly Drive-Ins in Livonia and Plymouth, until their retirement. Bud and Doris always enjoyed traveling, and after seeing all 50 states, visited well over 100 countries on all continents. Both always received their greatest joy in helping others. For many years, Bud and Doris worked closely with the Livonia Goodfellows. Her last major activity was as a volunteer with the Livonia Clothing Depot. GRIMSHAW CARMEN MARIE GRIMSHAW CARMEN GRIMSHAW Age 99 of Mullet Lake, MI formerly of Detroit, went home to the Lord Dec. 23, 2008. Dear friend of Donald G. and Jan Henkel. Preceded in death by her mother Emma and father Albert Grimshaw, a noted Detroit haberdasher. Her brother Fred was a Detroit teacher and swimming coach who died in 1973 from injuries inflicted by intruders at the school. Carmen worked for a number of years in the fisher building that was built on the site where her family's home once stood. The Grimshaw's were long time members of the Detroit Yacht Club and Carmen proudly noted that she had once danced there with Johnny Weissmuller (Tarzan). Carmen's brother's Fred had once been on the crew of the Fisher's boat in the Mackinac Race. Carmen considers the Fisher family good friends and spoke of their kindness. A private burial will be held Dec. 30, 2008 at the Grimshaw's Detroit Woodlawn family plot.

GUTHIKONDA DR RAO GUTHIKONDA Beloved husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, pediatrician and well-known leader in the Detroit Indian-Telugu community, passed away December 2, 2008 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan following a fight with brain cancer. Dr. Rao was born in Ayanapalem, Andhra Pradesh, India in 1946. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Suryakumari Guthikonda; daughters Padma Guthikonda Nallamothu and Shilpa Guthikonda Fugolo; and grandchildren Rukmini Kumari, Dhruv Kartik and Janaki Lakshmi Nallamothu.
