Born September 20, 1918 in Buffalo, New York to Pearl and Louis Petersen, she grew up in Redford, Michigan. On September 30, 1939, she married Charles B. Thornell and celebrated 52 years of companionship until his death on April 5, 1991. Margaret and Charles felt fortunate spending so many years in beautiful Northern Michigan. In 1954 they built a home on Burt Lake where their family spent the summer and enjoyed the Christmas holidays. In 1985, they moved to Harbor Springs, Michigan where Margaret, an avid gardener, became an active member of the Harbor Springs Garden Club. Margaret is survived by her four children and their spouses: Anne Christine and Michael R. Magee of Los Gatos, CA; Charlotte Jane and Gary R. Skilton of Milford, MI; Kathleen Ann and Charles B. Richard worked as a freelance writer all his life writing for a variety of publications. Richard was a compassionate man who became a community organizer and advocated for the homeless and less fortunate. Richard was cherished as a confidante and mentor who inspired many close friends in the art and music worlds. Richard was the father of the late Michael Tobias. Born July 31, 1938 son of Elmer and Catherine (Boyle) Trudell. Thomas was a Navy veteran and a graduate of St. Alphonsis H. S., Eastern Michigan University and received a Juris Doctorate from Cooley Law School. Thomas was a professor and counselor at Oakland Community College and a former Livonia elementary school teacher. He was a member of the Howell Elks Lodge No. 2168 and the Howell American Legion Devereaux Post No. 141. Beloved husband of Diane, father of Beth Anne (Robert) Niepokuj of Waterford, Amy (Mike Lutz) Trudell of Vandalia, MI and Matthew (Kelly) Trudell of Waterford.
