Loving father of Matthew (Theresa) Radecke and Wendy (Keven) Carter. Dearest grandfather of Kathryn and Collin. Dear brother of Susan (Toby) Dill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Elaine Radecke, and one brother, Robert. Mr. Radecke was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served as a medic in the army. He loved hunting, fishing and remodeling and was always working on do-it-yourself projects. Victor was a loving and loyal friend and will be missed by all who knew him. His family is thankful he was a Medical Miracle so they were able to have him as long as they did. The funeral service was private. Fred worked for 26 years as a custodian for the Walled Lake School System and volunteered as a fire fighter with the Commerce Michigan Fire Department. After retiring in 1982, Fred enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending a lot of time in Florida. In addition to his wife, Nona, Fred is survived by his daughter, Diane (Bob) Wallace; son; Frederick (Donna) Ray Jr.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. He later did graduate work at Michigan State University. John married Joan Frederick on January 12, 1951. He worked as a buyer for the J.L. Hudson Company for 33 years retiring in 1987. John was an active member of Hope Reformed Church in South Haven. He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother- Paul Riepma who recently passed away. He was a loving and much loved husband to Joan Riepma of South Haven. Father of James F. (Fiancé Gerilee) Riepma of Remus, Michigan and Jane S. (Gary) Grysko of Saginaw, Michigan. He married the former Ruth A. Durnbaugh on October 24, 1953 in Huntington Woods and she survives along with their 4 children Dana Wm. Rounds of Lapeer, Robert E. Rounds of Davisburg, Cheryl (Alan) Wagner of Fenton, and Christine (Terry) Stevenson; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Beverly (George) Gray of Port Richey, FL. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Rounds, a sister, Helen Putinsky, a brother, Charles E. Rounds and a grandson, Justin Todd. Memorial Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008 at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to services at the church. ROY KATHERINE EDNA ROY KATHERINE ROY Age 95, a life-long resident of Romeo, died peacefully at her family farmhouse while surrounded by her family on Monday, December 22, 2008. She was born on March 12, 1913 in Detroit, MI, daughter of Lida (Armand) Bowerman and Harvey Seward Bowerman. Katherine and her twin brother, Russell, and her older brother, Armand, were the fifth generation at Westview Orchards. At the age of 10 years, her twin, Russell, passed away from pneumonia. On March 8, 1952 she married Dr. David R. Roy in the Romeo United Methodist Church. Katherine graduated from Romeo High School in 1931. A few years later, she took several business courses and cooking courses. She and her brother, Armand Bowerman, owned and operated together their centennial family farm, Westview Orchards. As working business partners, Armand used his degree in chemistry working in the fields and orchards, while Katherine's business expertise managed the farm market and accounting matters. Armand died suddenly in 1981, so the farm management team became Katherine and her daughters, Abigail (Roy) Jacobson and Katrina (Roy) Schumacher for the next two decades. She and her family farm were recognized in 2005 as the "Business of the Year" by the Romeo-Washington Chamber of Commerce. Her daughters were recognized that same year as "Farmers of the Year" by the Macomb County Farm Bureau. She leaves behind daughters, Abigail (Bill) of Romeo and Katrina (Mike) of Imlay City, three grandchildren, Kathryn, Magdelyn, and Evan, and "extended" family, the Abigail and Imelda Chavez and the Pepe and Marisela Maldonado families. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26 from 4-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday 3 p.m. at the Romeo United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Sharp officiating.
