OLIN, CARL A OLIN CARL OLIN 83; Bradenton, formerly of Rochester, Michigan; passed away December 5, 2008. Born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, he moved to Michigan in 1943. He lived 45 years in Rochester Hills, Michigan before moving Full-time to Bradenton, Florida. His parents, Lillian and Albert predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor (Whitney); daughters, Pamela (David) Bannick of Ann Arbor, MI; Patricia (Gary) Butters of Greenfield, WI; sisters, Maxine Gaston of Mt. Vernon, IL and Wanda Shooltz of Grand Blanc, MI and winters in Bradenton; four grandchildren, Erin and Jeff Butters, Bryan (Nadine) Bannick, and Chris (Allison) Bannick; great grandson Andrew, as well as many nieces and nephews. He worked at General Motors retiring in 1988 as a Sr. Project Engineer form CPC Division (Formerly Fisher Body) after 38 years. He graduated from Wayne State University and was a member of the Theta Tau fraternity. He was a former member of the Rochester Elks Lodge, present memberof the Bradenton Elks Lodge #1511, and member of American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24. He proudly served his country in the Navy, 1943-1946 as a Pharmacy Technician. He is a former member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Rochester, Michigan. After moving full-time to Bradenton, he became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, reader, and enjoyed activities with his grandchildren. In 1929 he started his career as a messenger at the Bank of the Commonwealth in Detroit. After 47 years he retired as Vice President of the bank. In 1977 he retired in Florida, living in Tallahassee for many years and later settling to Havana. He is survived by his wife Dortha Osterman, of Havana; three sons, James Osterman (Katherine) of St. Clair Shores, MI, Alan Osterman (Margo) of Bloomfield, MI, and Charles "Mel" Osterman (Linda) of Howell, MI; a brother Rudolph Osterman of Reading, Pennsylvania and a sister Margaret Healy of Mt.
