Sylvia was born on July 14, 1925 in Pennsylvania, the youngest of six children to Carlo and Asunta Caporali. Tony was a former employee of the IRS where he worked for 28 years. He retired from the IRS and became the owner of Federal Tax Accounting and also was a partner/owner of Garden Fresh Salsa Company Inc. He was an avid golfer and proud member of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his grandchildren and family. Tony will be remembered as an incredibly compassionate man who sincerely cared about other people. He always put others before himself. His kindness, generosity and selfless nature will sadly be missed by everyone who knew him. Sue raised her family in Ferndale, Michigan for 30 years, retiring to Waikoloa, Hawaii and then Fort Myers, Florida. Volunteerism was very important and she started Ferndale Youth Assistance, which sent deserving children to summer camps, and Sue was on the Oakland County Girl Scout Council. Sue volunteered in the pastoral care departments at many hospitals. The family is holding a Memorial Mass at St. James Catholic Church in Ferndale, MI on Saturday, December 27th at 10:00 a.m.

LYONS MARY ANN LYONS MARY LYONS of Fraser, died Monday of an acute myocardial infarction. She was born Christmas Day 1915 in Sayreville, NJ, and was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William, in 1991. Mrs. Lyons taught for many years in the Detroit Public Schools, nurturing students from kindergarten level through adult school. She raised two sons, William John, M.D., and the late David Allan, while pursuing her first career in education. At the death of her husband, she began a second career, assuming the presidency of his corporation, Lyons Tool and Engineering. From 1991 until the present, she was active in the management of the company, leading them to their ISO9001 Certification in 1999. In addition to her responsibilities as a businesswoman, Mrs. Lyons was a generous supporter of De La Salle Collegiate, Madonna University, and The Orchard Lake Schools. She enjoyed an active life despite severe macular degeneration that plagued her in her later years. She participated in the American Polish Engineers Association, the Friends of Polish Art, and Friends of the Cardinal and Archbishop of Detroit. She was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from Madonna University in May 1996 for her achievements in business. She also recently received the Distinguished Benefactor Award of the Brothers of the Christian School. She is survived by her son William; her six grandchildren William, Kristin, Peter, Katherine, Adria, and David; and her two great-grandchildren David Paul and Madeline Ann. Visitation will be Sunday 3-9 p.m. and Monday 1-9 p.m. at Wujek-Calcaterra and Sons Funeral Home, 36900 Schoenherr Rd. at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd.), Sterling Heights.
