KEELAN KATHLEEN P KEELAN KATHLEEN KEELAN December 18, 2008; age 62. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Kathleen passed away peacefully and is now an Angel with her God. Kathy was a waitress for the past 26 years in Bloomfield Hills at both Forest Lake Country Club and at the former Kingsley Inn. KILMER L ROBERT L KILMER ROBERT KILMER BOB KILMER  A retired Boy Scouts of America Executive died in Sarasota, Florida on November 20, 2008. A native of Detroit, Michigan and an Eagle Scout, Mr. Kilmer attended Wayne State University. He entered the Scouting profession in 1944 as an Assistant District Executive in Detroit and served that council as a District Executive, Assistant Director of Field Service, Director of Activities, Director of Field Service and Deputy Scout Executive until December 1960. In January 1961 he became Scout Executive in St. Paul, Minnesota and after five successful years was promoted to the Scout Executive position in Baltimore, Maryland. In May 1972 he became Director of Support Service in the East Central Region. In January 1974 was appointed as the Regional Director of the East Central Region in Oak Brook, Illinois responsible for 78 Local Councils in six states. After more than four years later, he became Scout Executive in Miami, Florida resolving internal organizational and financial problems in that council. Serious back problems made it necessary to leave the profession and he retired after 41 years as a Career Scouter. Mr. Kilmer has been active in civic affairs in each community in which he lived, including Rotary, the United Way, along with active participation in the Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be held on December 13 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 5603 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21210 where he was a former member. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Kilmer's name to the Church. Beloved husband of the late Helen Mickey Kilmer and brother of the late James Kilmer. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Virginia Lou (Kerr) Klassen; his son, David in the year 2000; and sister, Joyce Babits during 2006. He is survived by daughter, Lisa F. Klassen-Pakkala (William); and grandchildren, Eero John Pakkala, Kiira Lou Pakkala and Eliel Ross Pakkala; brothers, Ralph C. Hoffman (Beverly), Paul E. Klassen (Runnel); and sister, Mary A. Owen. Also survived by loving companion and travel partner, Ruth S. Shaw of Orange, Mass.; brother-in-law, Roger Bickel; sister-in-law, Joyce Powanda (Robert); and many nieces, nephews, and their families. John was a product of Dearborn Public Schools, Dearborn Junior College and Wayne State University. He voluntarily served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ford in 1988 following thirty-four years of service in materials management. John was a lifetime member of Dearborn F@AM 172, and the Dearborn-Wayne Royal Arch Masons #182, a member of the USS President Hayes Reunion Association, The Detroit Institute of Arts, The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Chapter 57 American Legion, Owosso, Michigan, The Troy-Clawson Elks, The Honorary Society of Kentucky Colonels, and a member of the Shellbacks and Ancient Order of the Deep. John played golf throughout his lifetime with anyone who cared to play and was proud of his two holes in one. He enjoyed following his grandchildren's numerous sports activities and they became known as "Poppy's Pak". Since 1998, John has received many personal rewards as a volunteer mentor for reading skills at Owosso Public Schools. John's body has been cremated. KUJALA, IDA KUJALA BETTY KUJALA age 69; of Flint; passed away November 29, 2008. She was born January 3, 1939, in Detroit, the daughter of Harold and Fannie (Seppanen) Kujala. She attended Troy High School, Western Michigan University, and Michigan State University for a master's degree. She first taught English at Ferndale High School, then for over thirty years at Flint Northern High School, retiring in 2001. She also owned Copy Depot Express Printing in Flint for several years. She is survived by her sister, Sandra (Joe) Walls of Ann Arbor; brothers, Michael (Patricia) Kujala of Troy and Donald Seppanen of Madison Heights; brother-in-law, Dennis Haase of Troy; nieces, Tracy, Michelle, Heidi and Cassie; nephews, Shawn, Chad and Dillon; several cousins; special friends, Sharon, Sally, Shirley, Karen K., Karen F. and Bobbi. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved sister, Joyce Haase. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 27, at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Flint, 2474 S.
