A memorial celebration for both Bob and Sonia will be held sometime in the new year. Sonia was born in Dearborn, Michigan to Polish immigrant parents and was the fourth of five children. She went to work at age 12 after the death of her father, and finished the 10th grade. Sonia worked for the American Ordinance company during WWII, then Cunningham-Limp, and later for the Detroit College of Law, from which she retired as their financial aid officer. Sonia married Robert (Bob) Kingdon Jolls on 26 December, 1950. Married for 58 years, he preceded her in death by one week. Sonia and Bob raised one daughter, Claudia, to whom they imparted their love for life and their sense of humor. Claudia and her husband, Karl Faser, Jr, live and work in Greenville, North Carolina. They treasure the years that they were able to be together with Sonia and Bob as a family in Greenville. Sonia is remembered as a vibrant spirit who fiercely loved life. She was active in school and church, served as a Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed her bowling and sewing. Sonia rejoiced in many things, but particularly her family, friends, home, animals, and laughter. Family Hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with Funeral Service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Eld. Mrs. Brown will Lie in State in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Juanita Jones-Brown lovingly known as "Dean" was born February 22, 1936 in Stanton, Tennessee to the union of Elbert and Catherine Jones. She grew up in Brownsville, Tennessee area where she attended public schools. Juanita was loving mother of six children and was formerly married to Henry Brown. She had a love for Christ, was spiritual in her being and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan for many years. She was a proud homeowner in the city of Detroit who diligently served the community of Conant Gardens as well as the Grixdale Property Owners Association, plus held the position of President of the Jos Campau Street Block Club for numerous years. She was poised, articulate and contributed her talents to serving the United Auto Workers Union as union secretary, retiring from the Chrysler Corporation in 1981. Juanita was a devoted daughter who tiredlessly cared for her ailing mother who preceded her in death. She'll always be remembered for her tremendous spirit of giving to others, a special gift for making folks feel good, her sense of humor and spirit of fierce independence. Mrs. Jones-Brown leaves to cherish her memories sons, Reverend Llewellyn V. (Mable) Jones of Pontiac, Michael D. Brown of Detroit, Phillippa Y. Price Detroit; siblings, Ruth M. Hanley and Aurthelia (Leon) Nash; three granddaughters; four great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Jones-Brown was preceded in death by her three sons, Eric O., Roy V., and Malcolm D. JORGENSON RUSSELL ARNE JORGENSON RUSSELL JORGENSON 82, Died December 25 in Traverse City. He retired as an engineer from GM and proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy.
