He was born, reared and educated (Burbank Elementary, Cass Tech High, WSU) in Detroit. Tommy was a musician, a writer, a lover of history and nature, an adventurer, an animal activist, a motorcyclist, politically oriented, a constant student of the universe, a story-teller with a dramatic flair and a droll sense of humor; plus, he was in love with his fellow earthlings and the excitement and mysteries of life, and especially with his family and friends. He was very dear to his mother, Jeanie Daar Sinclair-Smith and his father, the late Harold Sinclair-Smith, and his siblings, Dr. Karen Sinclair-Smith (Michael Mannebach), Robert Sinclair-Smith, Suzanne Sinclair-Smith, Esq., Daniel Sinclair-Smith, and the late David Sinclair-Smith. He will be sorely missed by his son Thadeus Kenneray (Carolyn), his daughters Leah Knowlan-Langdon and Elizabeth Sinclair-Smith, his granddaughters Angelica Rusell and Jordan Kenneray and the mother of his daughters, Wendy Sinclair-Smith. He leaves relatives in Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, California, Oregon, Brazil, Scotland, and Alberta, Canada. Despite long-standing health problems, Tommy's motto was (San Francisco inspired, naturally) "Keep on Truckin'!". So, Keep on Truckin', Tommy...we know your spirit is with us! Per his wishes, Tommy was cremated, and on December 29, 2008, a bagpiper-lead wake will be held (to celebrate his life) at a Pacifica, CA oceanside beach site, and his ashes will be returned to Nature. If you would like to make a memorial donation in Tommy's name, his favorite charity was St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, 344 Grand Ave., So. San Francisco, CA 94080. Or, in Tommy's memory, simply perform a Random Act of Kindness to help someone less fortunate than you. And, remember, no matter what happens down the road, just KEEP ON TRUCKIN'! Finally, peace and love to all who were fortunate enough to know and appreciate Tommy Sinclair-Smith, because he surely treasured every one of you! Messages may be sent to: jsinclairsmith@yahoo.com.
