PONDER JERALD M PONDER JERALD PONDER 81 of Mancelona, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on September 29, 1927 in Halfway, the son of the late Mitchell and Grace (Hummel) Ponder. Jerald is the loving father of Joseph (Rebecca) Ponder of Florida, Jerald Ponder of Eastpointe, David Ponder of Mancelona and Renea (Arthur) Garton of Shelby Twp. The devoted grandfather of six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and cherished brother of Bill (Barbara) Ponder of Kalkaska. Jerald was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Ponder. Jerald was a resident of Mancelona since 1989 moving from New Haven. He retired from Michigan Bell Telephone after working for 42 years. Jerald enjoyed the great outdoors and his family. PRAY EDWARD R PRAY EDWARD PRAY passed away on November 16, 2008. Ed was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 2, 1937. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955. He served as a proud member of ROTC and Delaware Army National Guard. He received his Bachelor of Science from University of Delaware, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Edward went on to a career as a research chemist, first at DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware, and then BASF Corporation in Wyandotte, Michigan. His work led to six US Patents, held in his area of expertise in polyurethane foam materials for the automotive industry. He lived in Dearborn, Michigan for 30 years, where he was well known as an avid supporter of his daughters' academic and extra-curricular activities. He was a longstanding member of First Presbyterian Church in Dearborn. During retirement, he enjoyed volunteering for Wayne County Meals on Wheels. He moved to Seattle, Washington in 2007 to live near his daughters again. Edward is survived by his daughters, Kate and Lauren, and his son-in-law Dave Morris.
