She was born and raised in the Detroit area, and remained in southeast Michigan almost her entire life. She was 82 years old when her heart finally gave out. Kenneth Olson, her husband of 60 years, was at her side. Between them, they raised 11 children, all of whom survive her. All but two continue to reside in Michigan. She had one younger brother John "Jack" Bartek, who also survives her. Family meant everything to her, and she devoted her life to her family, and to her church as long as her health permitted. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 20, 1926, she was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Refuge Church in Orchard Lake, Michigan, where there will be a funeral Mass on November 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. The family asks that you keep her in your prayers. Evelyn was born December 19, 1918, in Washington, D.C., to the late Jake and Stella (Bandy) Parks. She married Joseph B. Osentoski on June 26, 1939. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1981. Evelyn was a homemaker, and after raising her family, she went to work at Thirfty Drug Store in Waterford for 20 years. She was an excellent seamstress, avid reader, loved to crochet, and enjoyed traveling to Montana and being with family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Judy Brandon of Waterford, Sue Salvador (Gary) of Clinton, Montana, Deb Collings, Bad Axe; and son-in-law Carl Collings, Bad Axe; six grandchildren, Vicky Gardner (special friend Tim Hallwood), Bad Axe, Tom Brandon, Waterford, Jodie Leszcynski (Dave), Highland, Joe Osentoski, Waterford, Cory Collings (special friend Leslie Sweet), Walker, MI, and Laura Shepherd (Jason), Bad Axe; and six great grandchildren.
