EADS MAGGIE LOUISE EADS MAGGIE LOUISE 78, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. Eads, Jr. She is survived by her brother Herman L. Maupin, her three children, Clarence L. Eads III, Cheryl L. Bureau (Michael), and Daniel A. Eads (Judy); her grandchildren, Michael Bureau, Jr., Melissa A. Lockwood (David), Nichole M. Shuler (Scott), Aaron Eads, Lynette Boyd; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Louise will be missed by her numerous friends and family in Michigan and Florida. In life, Louise was an avid gardener and an active church member of Merriman Road Baptist Church, Garden City, Michigan and First Baptist Church in New Port Richey, Florida where she spent her winters. Her career as a secretary began at the YMCA in Detroit, Michigan and as the church secretary and bookkeeper for Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Lincoln Park, MI. She was also a receptionist and bookkeeper for Construction Pipe, Inc. Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #636. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11 a.m., in state 10 a.m. at Merriman Road Baptist Church, 2055 Merriman Rd., Garden City. Visitation Tuesday 2-9 p.m. at R.G. & G.R. EASON JAMES GEORGE EASON Born November 7, 1928 in Detroit, MI; passed away November 12, 2008 in McKinney, TX at his home, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Eason, of 57 years; daughter, Diane Snow of Dallas, TX; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Linda and Dennis Welcher, of Tulsa, OK; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Brian and Jan Eason, of Dallas, TX; Son and Daughter-in-Law, John and Amy Eason, of La Porte, IN; grandchildren, Stephanie Welcher, Drew Welcher, Kim Snow, Travis Snow, Sam Eason, Amy Eason, John Eason, Abigail Eason, Jake Eason, Mara Eason, and Zach Eason. Jim graduated from Denby High School in 1947 and received a BA in Accounting from the University of Detroit. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1953, and was scouted as a left handed pitcher by Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Giants organizations. Memorial services will be held at a later date. EATON JEFFERSON S EATON JEFFERSON S "JEFF" Age 93 of St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully November 8, 2008. He was the dear father of David, Virginia, and Richard. Grandfather of six and great-grandfather of two. He is also survived by his companion of many years, Emma "Dolly" Otto. Jeff was born on September 20, 1915 near Calumet, MI to Frederick S. and Sarah (Nickel) Eaton. He proudly served as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from Hillsdale College and Wayne State University and worked for the New York Central Railroad and Ford Motor Company, living in Dearborn for many years. During his retirement he was a Gold Medalist in swimming in the senior olympics and played keyboard in a local band. Jeff had a great sense of humor and loved U of M Football. ELLMAN, MARY MAY; of Saginaw, formerly of Ortonville; November 15, 2008; at 94 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Walter Ellman; dear mother of Shirley (Jim Scott) Merrick, Linda (James) Burke, the late Sharon Ellman, Eugene Ellman and Mary Jane Board; sister of Fred (Kathy) Russell; also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Ellman was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hadley. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who always sought out the best in everyone. ELMY, GERALD M ELMY, GERALD ELMY age 77; of West Branch; passed away suddenly Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He had lived in West Branch since 1993, formerly of Gingellville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a volunteer for the Gingellville Fire Department for many years. He retired from the Oakland County Central Garage in 1991 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch and his hobbies were restoring antique cars and Model A s. Gerald is survived by his wife, Ila Elmy of West Branch; children, Renee (John) Oltesvig of Carthage,North Carolina and Gerald (Linda) Elmy of Lake Orion; grandchildren, Andrea (Alton) Schmitt, Justin Oltesvig and Amber Elmy; and great grandchildren, McKenzie and Brandon; also surviving is his sister, Doris (Rolland) Polley of Clarkston. He was preceded in death by his brother Walter Elmy and his sister, Virginia Cole. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch. ENGLISH, MARTINA ENGLISH MICKI ENGLISH of Clarkston; died November 28, 2008, at the age of 87. Micki was the loving wife of Earl for 70 years; beloved mother of John (Linda) English of Union Lake, Earl (Marie) English of Lake Orion, Mike (Mary) English of White Lake, Judy (David) Carpenter of Clarkston and Susie Palermo of Waterford; cherished grandmother of 11; and great grandmother of 14; dear sister of Frank (Ellen) Hoffman of Waterford and Gilbert Hoffman of Traverse City. Preceded in death by brother Anthony Hoffman and sister Dorothy Dean. Micki was retired from the Pontiac School District where she had worked as a baker. She was a volunteer at Saint Joseph Mercy-Oakland. A Celebration of Martina's life will be held Monday, December 1, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Missionary Church, 4832 Clintonville Road, Clarkston, with Pastor Bud Freed officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Independence Twp. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 30, 2008, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huron Street Chapel of Huntoon Funeral Home, 855 W. Huron St. (M-59) in Pontiac. ESSIAN EDWARD ESSIAN EDWARD Age 83, of Clinton Township, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy; daughters, Janice (Bob) Thomas, Denise (Mike) Back, and Marilyn; and sons Mike (Cyndi) Essian and Mark (Janet) Essian. He is also survived by one brother, two sisters, 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Kellie, one brother, and three sisters. Ed retired after 33 years with the Detroit Fire Department, Ladder 19, as Captain.
