DEKKER MARTHA MARIE DEKKER MARTHA DEKKER Age 94 of Sterling Heights, went to be with her beloved Savior on Friday, November 26, 2008. She was born in Webster Groves, Missouri on June 7, 1914 and was predeceased by her parents and three sisters. Though she leaves behind no relatives, she will be missed by countless friends, many of whom she knew from ministry with the Missionary Workers in Detroit. When Martha retired, she and co-workers Helen Slagle and Lois Lilly moved to Warren. She remained passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ, attended Grace Community Church and enjoyed watching the Detroit Pistons. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at Chas. DEMCHYNA RONALD STANLEY DEMCHYNA RONALD DEMCHYNA Age 61, passed away November 14, 2008. Ron was born to Boyden and Alice Demchyna January 7, 1947 in Detroit, MI. He worked for Hatch Stamping and Engineering and spent his career as a Tooling Engineer. Ron also served as a High Priest in the Brighton Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as well as several other leadership positions. He is survived by his children Tracey (Clint) Harvey of Mansfield TX, Janna Demchyna of Raleigh NC and Jordan (Olivia Gibson) Demchyna of Sylvania OH, his two grandchildren Casey and Cassidy and nephew and niece Nick and Alexis, his brothers Walter Demchyna of Clinton Twp. and Boyd (Karen) Demchyna of St. Clair Shores as well as many other loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his son Joshua. DENMAN JOHN H DENMAN JOHN DENMAN Age 70, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully the afternoon of Thursday, November 13, in Grosse Ile, MI, after fighting a relentless battle with cancer. John was born on July 31, 1938 in Wyandotte, MI, to Harold and Irene Denman (deceased). He was the beloved husband of Barbara (married 42 years), father of Renee Thompson (Gregory), Rachelle Smith (Robert), and Jacquelyn Lonsbury; brother of JoAnn Johnson (Joseph); grandfather of Madison, Matthew, Michael, Austin, Nicholas, and Christian. John grew up in the Downriver area and attended Grosse Ile High School. In High School he was an athletic competitor and president of his 1956 graduating class. John was a graduate of University of Notre Dame and Marquette University. He completed his internship and residency at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. He continued his study in Oral Surgery at Boston University. John practiced his specialty in Wyandotte, MI for over 30 years. He belonged to The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and also served on the board of The Great Lakes Society of Oral Surgeons. As a civic leader, he belonged to the Grosse Ile Jaycees, Grosse Ile Rotary Club, and Grosse Ile School Board (12 years) where he served as President for all three organizations. In the Downriver community, he was recognized by the Lincoln Park Jaycees as "The Outstanding Doctor of the Year" in 1971. John was also chosen as "Citizen of the Year" by the Grosse Ile Rotary Club in 1984. As an avid boater he was a long-term member of the Grosse Ile Yacht Club, serving on the Board of Directors and ascended to the rank of Commodore in 1985. John was also a long time member of the Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club. He retired in 1996 pursuing his interests in boating, fishing, and spending time with his family in Grosse Ile, Michigan and in Englewood, Florida. DILLON KATHRYN ANNE DILLON KATHRYN DILLON Age 48, of Anchorage Alaska. Loving daughter of Beatrice and the late Joseph Dillon, passed away on November 15th at the Mary Conrad Center in Anchorage. Kathy was born on 2/26/60 in Geneva, Switzerland. She settled in Alaska after being stationed there with the US Army. After discharge, she was employed over 18 years with the Post Office in Anchorage. Kathy was an accomplished athlete in high school, college and city league sports of basketball, softball, volleyball, track, swimming and later coached high school athletics. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her dogs. Kathy is survived by brothers Bryan, Tim (Cheryl), Paul ( JoDee), Jeffrey (Jill) and sisters Teri, Anne Andrews (Mark) and Jeanne and 18 nieces and nephews. Kathy's courage, strength and hope have touched us all deeply. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her sense of humor, generosity and loving heart. DRERUP EVA DRERUP Age 81, of South Lyon. Passed away on November 6, 2008. She was born on February 10, 1927 in Cumberland, Kentucky to Sam and Elizabeth (Sabinski) Casper. She was united in marriage to Carl Drerup and they spent over 50 loving years together until his death in 2002. Eva, a homemaker, adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed ceramics. She is survived by her daughters: Carla (Dale) McGriff, Gail (Bob) Truax, and Lisa Fisher; her grandchildren: Kevin Miller, Michele (Chris) Radiwon, Jessica Wood, and Rebecca Wood; and her great-grandchildren: Hadley, Cooper, and Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and three sisters. Private Family services were held. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Ocala, Florida. Four wonderful Granddaughters: Dr.Kathleen Cowling (Robert), Jennifer (John) VanAlsburg, Sarah (Phillip) Maguire , Elizabeth Anne Mahaffy. Four great grandchildren: Riley Rose VanAlsburg, Kollen David VanAlsburg, Anikah Giselle Maguire, and Salem Asher Maguire born June 22, 2008. The circle of life. She was a Grey Lady during WWII at the Veterans hospital. Munson Hospice helped her slip away peacefully and pain free. Any memorial tributes may be offered to Munson Hospice, in honor of Rosie. No services are planned - according to her wishes she has been cremated.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Karen, son Michael John Duffy Jr. (Lena), daughter Erin Duffy Mercer (Clark), step daughters Tracy Raona (Joe) and Lindsay Hengel. Dear brother of Patricia Cappy (Joe), Kathy Doherty (Tim), Christine Duffy, and Timothy Duffy (Judy). Loving Poppy to Rice, Teaghan, Liam, Mats, Luciano and Santino. Predeceased by Janice L. Duffy and his parents Gertrude and Melvin Duffy. Mike was extremely proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps. Building on his experience from the military, Mike started and operated a successful business. He was a member of the Grosse Pointe Crisis Club and gave generously to the community. He was a great hockey player, a fearless snowboarder, and enjoyed winning a few bucks off his best friends in a game of golf. He loved traveling with Karen and in the past three years they visited Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Canada, and took a road trip across the U.S. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at St. Philomena Catholic Church, 4500 Marseilles Street, Detroit, MI 48224.
