YATES VIRGINIA KATHERINE YATES VIRGINIA YATES VIRGINIA KATHERINE DONOVAN YATES VIRGINIA DONOVAN YATES (nee DONOVAN) Of Lansing. Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend died Monday, January 19, 2009 at the age of 85. Virginia was born January 26, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan and was the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Fischer) Donovan. She worked for the Federal Government War Department as an auditor during World War II and retired from the State of Michigan Natural Resources after 13 years of faithful service. She was a volunteer at St. Lawrence Hospital and a volunteer for the St. Gerard Church Bereavement Committee for 10 years. Virginia loved reading and was a regular patron of the Delta Township Library. She leaves behind many wonderful friends too numerous to mention, including the widow's group, travel group and her special lifelong friend, Carol Connely. Virginia touched many lives and will be remembered as a caring and giving person who always put everyone before herself. She taught her children the value of responsibility, hard work and honesty. We will miss her beautiful smile and contagious laughter. She always had a great sense of humor and kept everyone laughing even during difficult times. Her loving husband, Wayne (1981), sister, Margaret (1975), and brother, Raymond (1990), precede her in death. Surviving are her children, Kathy Yates of Lansing, Paul (Maria) Yates of Florida, Peter (Susan) Yates of Alabama, Annmarie (Ronald) Cook of Lansing, Karl (Beth) Yates of Lake Orion; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. The Funeral Liturgy is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow Hwy, Lansing 48917 with visitation from 1-2 p.m. prior to the Service. Rite of Committal is St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Delta Township Library or St. Gerard Catholic Church in memory of Virginia. YOUNG DELORES Y YOUNG DELORES YOUNG age 72; of Largo, FL; passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009, at Hospice House Woodside. Born in Franklin, PA, she moved to Mentor, OH, in 1958 and stayed there until she moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1980. She was a believer of the Jehovah s Witnesses. She was a huge animal lover and Elvis fan. She was an Avon representative from 1969-2008 and a Wal-Mart associate from 1993-2008. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA of Tampa Bay 727-586-3591. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Marcus, and brother, Bobby Hutcheson, and daughter, Lacinda Cupp. She is survived by her son, Rick Young, Seminole, FL; grandchildren, Jeanette Cook of Seminole, FL, John Cupp of Geneva, OH, Michelle Amato of Wake Forest, NC, and Steven and Jeffrey Young of Chardon, OH; and five great grandchildren.
