Kathryn was born on August 23, 1917 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Pearl and Mae Purdy. She married Richard Charles Fagan in Detroit on June 28, 1941 and they had three children, Patrick, Joanne and Kenneth. Kathryn is survived by her son Ken and his wife Mary Simon; daughter-in-law of Karen Fagan and her partner Chester Brown; daughter Joanne Walters, grand and great grandchildren. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Richard, adored son Patrick, loving brother Edward and his wife, Tillie and granddaughter Sandy. FISHER ALICE AUSUM FISHER ALICE AUSUM of Plymouth, MI, formerly of Orchard Lake and Chelsea, MI Mrs. Fisher passed away, Monday, January 26, 2009 following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born October 7, 1928 at home, in Traunik, Michigan to Louis and Frances (Bartol) Mikulich. On January 15, 1983, she married Robert George Fisher who preceded her in death on July 12, 2008. Mrs. Fisher is survived by her children: Dr. Antonia Ausum (Dr. Dal Fear), of Ann Arbor, MI; James D. Ausum, of Westland, MI; Daniel F. Ausum, of Fenton, MI; Stephen L. Ausum, of Davisburg, MI and Julianne A. Fenhagen (James C.) of Montclair, NJ. She is also survived by her former husband and father of her children, Dr. J. David Ausum (Patricia) of Tryon, NC. She has four beloved grandchildren: Captain Alexis M. Bailey (Justin), Gregory Fear, Alena Fear and Aaron Fenhagen. She is also survived by her sisters: Ethel Hebbard and Patricia Finnegan and brothers: John R. (Grace) Mikulich and Robert F. (Frances) Mikulich. Mrs. Fisher has seven step-children: Stephen Fisher (Ann) of Shanghai, China; Mariana Kelley (Bill) of Coral Springs, FL; Tess Horak (Lou) of Downers Grove, IL and Dr. Brian R. Fisher (Vera): John Fisher (Kathy); Gretchen Fisher-Gladieux and Kathleen Hoagg (Douglas) all of Traverse City, MI. There are 17 Fisher grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Robert, Mrs. Fisher was predeceased by her parents, brothers Louis Mikulich and William Mitchell, and sisters Mary M. Dickinson and Gladys M. Floria. Mrs. Fisher is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters and brothers-in-law. FOWLER ROBERT A FOWLER ROBERT FOWLER BOB FOWLER Age 69 of Clermont, Florida. After a courageous and lengthy battle with ALS, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at South Lake Hospital. Bob is survived by his loving family, including wife Patricia; two sons, Rob and Peter; a daughter-in-law Diane; two beautiful grandchildren, Alexander and Olivia; his brother, Thomas; and a sister-in-law Barbara, who reside in Tampa, FL. Bob was a successful and well-respected sportswriter and columnist, whose career spanned some 35 years. Beginning in Detroit, MI and later moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bob covered all the major sports in those cities. A lifetime member of the Baseball Writer's Association of America, he also authorized three books on baseball and sports during his time in MN. In late 1980, Bob accepted a position with the Orlando Sentinel. In the mid-80's, Bob led a group of investors in purchasing the Utica Blue Sox, a minor league baseball team in Utica, NY. After retiring from the newspaper, he assumed the day-to-day operations of the franchise. During this time, the business community of Utica asked Bob if he would assume leadership of the local Chamber of Commerce, which he accepted. He served as Chamber President for 7 years and maintained ownership of the baseball team for 17 years from 1985-2002. Bob sold the franchise to baseball legend Cal Ripken, Jr., retired from the Chamber and returned to Central FL. Bob and Pat have been married for 45 years. Nothing mattered more to Bob than family. He was a wonderful and father who showed all, through his love and kindness, how to be a decent human being. The lessons he taught his family will never be forgotten and his spirit will continue to live and thrive within each of them. He handled his affliction with ALS with a level of dignity and class that was inspiring to all who witnessed it. He never let the disease get the best of him. The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to all the wonderful friends of Bob's who were so instrumental in helping him in his fight. Your kindness can never be repaid. To Bob. To Dad. Miriam graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1943, majoring in tailoring, and was very artistic her whole life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden Wayne Kaufman, and both siblings. Surviving are her daughters, Terry (John) Berg, Gayle (Jesse) VanAntwerp and Carri (John) Perry; son, Gregory Kaufman, nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her companion, Mel Bork. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16 at 3 p.m. at the University United Methodist Church, 1120 S. Harrison, East Lansing. Interment will be held in Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit.
