WAGNER ROSE MARIE WAGNER ROSE WAGNER DOLLY WAGNER East Lansing, age 79, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 in Lansing. Rose was born March 13, 1929 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Domenico and Grace Perrino. She obtained her B.S. from Wayne State University, was a teacher in the Detroit Public Schools and retired as a medical statistical epidemiological researcher. Rose was a member of Phi Upisilon Omicron, Alpha Gamma Chapter; the American Association of University Women, the Unitarian Universilist Women's Federation, volunteered her time and talents with Sparrow Hospital, and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wagner. Surviving are her son, Dr. Robert J. Darios, M.D. and his wife, Diane Strachan of East Lansing; stepdaughter, Cheryl Wagner and her spouse, Brenda Bates of TN; three grandchildren, Emma, Scott and Brian Darios; brother, Tony Perrino and his wife, Karen Freiss-Perrino of Virginia. A Celebration of Rose's life will be held Wednesday, February 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave. with Rev. WAY MARY DEAN WAY MARY WAY passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and grew up in Miami, Florida. She attended the University of Iowa, where she became a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and achieved a BA in Psychology. Mary Dean married Robert Way, who preceded her in death in 1990. They raised their family in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1980. Mary Dean devoted her life to raising her children, and to giving her time and talents to volunteer efforts in her church and community. In addition, she enjoying boating and travel with husband Bob. She is survived by six children: Stephen, Christopher, Peter, Anne, Gregory, and Andrew; nine grandchildren: Andrea, Lea, Lisa, Mica, Jody, Jason, Lillian, Dean, Daniel; six great-grandchildren: Isaac, Devon, Kenzie, Alarica, Aaron, Andrea; one great-great grandchild: Austin; and her sister Jean. Mary Dean devoted her volunteer efforts to Hospital Guilds in Michigan, serving on the state and local boards of directors. She volunteered in many capacities through her church and community in the Jacksonville area, including delivering Meals on Wheels, and serving in a variety of ways in her years living at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek. WAY RICHARD C WAY RICHARD WAY born August 3, 1926, in Grand Rapids, MI, son of Herbert and Lena Irene (Reames) Way; passed away March 2, 2009, in DeWitt; at the age of 82. Dick was a former principal for Okemos and Waterford Township Public Schools and retired as a principal from the Grand Ledge Public Schools. During his retirement, Dick and Donna spent 9 years in Ludington. He was a veteran of W.W.II, serving in the U.S. Airforce; past president of the Grand Ledge Area Chamber of Commerce; member of the Wacousta Community United Methodist Church; played baseball for MSU and was a member of the MSU Alumni. Dick was an avid gardener, enjoyed landscaping and spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren. WEAVER-HUDSON PASTOR JOHN WEAVER-HUDSON PASTOR WEAVER-HUDSON PASTOR HUDSON Born on August 10, 1958 in Detroit to Louis Hudson and his wife, Kathleen (nee Weaver). He was adopted into the family of God by the washing of holy baptism on December 10, 1969. John was an avid student all of his life. He attended elementary and secondary schools in Oak Park and Birmingham. He received a B.A. in German and Religion from Oberlin College in 1979, an M. Div. from the seminary program at Earlham School of Religion in Richmond, Ind. in 1984, an M.A. in classical languages from Loyola University in 1996 and a Doctor of Theology Degree from the University of Zululand in South Africa in 2008. After his graduation from the seminary in 1984, he served as Pastor at UCC Congregational and Baptist churches in Ohio and Illinois. For confessional reasons, he applied for and was accepted by colloquy into the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in 2001. As part of the colloquy process, he attended a semester at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wis. and also served as vicar/pastoral assistant at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wis. and at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Livonia. In 2002, the Lord called him to serve as pastor of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hartford, where he served faithfully for the rest of his days. On Tuesday, January 27, 2009, the Lord in his wisdom and love took the soul of Pastor Weaver-Hudson from this vale of tears to himself in heaven. He is survived by his parents. His time on earth was 50 years, 5 months and 17 days. The Christian funeral service to honor Pastor Weaver-Hudson's life will take place at 1 p.m.; Monday, February 2 at the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 205 Bennett Avenue, Hartford. Pastor Paul S. Naumann will serve as officiant. His remains will be interred at Grandlawn Cemetery in Detroit, where they wait for the sure and certain resurrection to eternal life in Christ. WOLFER MARY MARGARET WOLFER MARY WOLFER Age 87, formerly of Detroit, died February 21, 2009 in Warren. She was born May 13, 1921 in Caseville, MI. She married William Wolfer April 26, 1941 in Detroit and he preceded her on March 28, 1989. She retired from Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit as a nurse aid. She was past president of Fraser Senior Citizens, a member of the St. Anne Society, and was a Red Cross Volunteer. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, crafting, sewing, and going to Florida in winters. Surviving are her children, Mary Ann Baril, Noreen (Ron) Baller, Cheryl (Dale) Lesh, and William (Marie) Wolfer; grandchildren Diane, Donna, Carey, Dawn, Autumn, Dale, Ron, Bill, Amy, Bob, and Patrick; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna (Wesley) Nutt and Eileen (Don) Wickline. WOOD, VIRGINIA LEE; passed away; January 29, 2009; former Pontiac resident. She was born October 2, 1916 in La Harpe, IL. She was employed at Baldwin Rubber Co. in Pontiac, where she met her husband, Harry Joseph Wood, a chemist. Virginia was a member of the Presbyterian Church. In 1960, they moved to Long Beach, CA. She remained there until moving to Bishop in 2006. Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Joanne Wood Parsons of Bishop, CA, and Barbara Wood Mills of Grand Blanc, and their respective families; including three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

WOODARD LYMAN ELNATHAN WOODARD SR LYMAN WOODARD SR Age 66, of Owosso, MI passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI. Lyman was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 3, 1942, the son of Lyman Elnathan and Jane Elizabeth (Wiggins) Woodard and resided most of his life in the Detroit area. Lyman married Cynthia Elaine King on August 30, 2004. She passed away April 5, 2005. Lyman was a graduate of Owosso High School and attended Oscar Peterson School of Jazz in Toronto. He started playing the piano at the age of three and was a gifted piano and Hammond B3 organ player, music was his life. He was a Director and Arranger for Motown and toured with Martha Reeves. Lyman owned and operated Corridor Records of Detroit and was the Director and Arranger for Lyman Woodard Trio and Lyman Woodard Organization. He was a well known and beloved musical artist in Detroit. Lyman was also a short story writer and retired to his family farm in Owosso where he spent his later years. He is survived by his son Lyman Elnathan Woodard, IV of Hamtramck, MI, twin sisters, Jane Stevens of Sisters, OR and Susan Sasso of Olema, CA; and his niece Sarah and Joe Purcell of Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Wright had moved to Prescott, Arizona 7 years ago from Rochester, MI where he had lived for 50 years. He graduated from Arcanum High School in Ohio and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Muncie, IN and had been an avid bowler for his entire adult life. He had served in the US Navy during W.W. II. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Rochester, Michigan. He married Grace Pearl (Davies) Wright on June 27, 1942 in Montpelier, IN. He was the son of the late Archie Edward Wright and the late Reva Jeanette Wright. Survivors include son, Edward (wife, Carol) Wright of Prescott, AZ.; daughter, Beverly Goubeaux of Greenville, OH; brother, Doyle (wife, Georgia) Wright of Perrysburg, OH; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Doreen was born in England May 31, 1928 and moved to the U.S. in 1969. Surviving her are two daughters, Lesley Hammond, Tricia Schurman, one son, Peter Wright and three grandchildren.
