She is survived by Donald, her devoted husband for 47 years and her precious sons, Tim (Sue) and Tom (Nancy). Proud and loving grandma of Katelin, Karly, Derek, and Jenna. Cherished sister of Bernadine (Ken) Kraemer and Henry (Janice) Roth. She was preceded in death by her loving sister Christine (Tina) Cabrera. PEARCE MARIE E PEARCE MARIE PEARCE 95; of Oxford; died February 1, 2009. Marie E. Pearce was born May 18, 1913 in Saranac Lake, New York. She was a graduate of Barnard College and Columbia Teachers College in New York and the Yale College of Nursing in New Haven, Connecticut. She lived in Manhattan, where she met Paul C. Pearce, a soldier stationed at Governor's Island. They were married on September 9, 1944 and returned to Paul's home state of Michigan. They raised a family in Oxford, where they resided together until Paul's death in 1997. Marie then moved to Independence Village in Oxford, where she was active in community affairs. Marie was Chair of the Nursing Department at Oakland Community College in the 1970s and was the first Chair to see the program accredited. Marie was also a dedicated member of the Northeast Oakland Historical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and an avid genealogist. Marie is survived by her children, Dr. Stephen Lee Pearce of New Orleans, Louisiana, Margaret Camarata and her husband Frank of Jacksonville, Florida, Elizabeth Anne Morrill and her husband Tracey of Groveton, New Hampshire, and Michael J. Pearce, Esq. and his wife Madelyn, of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by her grandchildren Thomas and Kevin Mann, of Jacksonville, Florida, and a great granddaughter Shelby. Marie died in the home of her loving daughter, Margaret, surrounded by family. A Mass will be held for Marie at St. Joseph's church on Lapeer Road in Lake Orion, Michigan,

on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11 a.m.

 

PEARSON ANTHONY CHRIS PEARSON ANTHONY PEARSON Was born to Emandia Pearson December 27, 1967 in Detroit, MI. He was the 3rd of 4 children. A lively an active child he attended Kettering High School. Anthony's sense of humor was a constant joy to the family. His monotone voice always brought a smile to your heart. January 16, 2009, Anthony went home to Glory. PIERNICK IRENE C PIERNICK IRENE PIERNICK IRENE CITRON PIERNICK(nee CITRON) Age 92, of Westland and Clearwater Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Maplewood Manor, Wayne, Sunday, February 1, 2009 after a long battle with colon cancer. Irene was born February 9, 1916 in Detroit. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from high school at the age of 15 from the High School of Commerce, adjacent to Cass Tech. She met her future husband-to-be Anthony "Tony" Piernick, in 1930. In 1932, Irene married Tony and they began their marriage of over 57 years. In 1941 they bought property and built a home on Pennie Road in Dearborn Township, now Dearborn Heights. They lived together there until Tony passed away in 1990, and then Irene lived there and in Florida until just two years ago, when she relocated to the Village of Westland. Irene worked as an executive secretary for Ford Motor Company for 27 years. Irene Piernick is survived by her two sons, Anthony T. "Tom" (Margie), Clearwater Beach, Florida and Matthew (Jean), Dearborn Heights, by two grandsons, David and Adam, and by many nieces and nephews. He is survived by Sandra (Young), his beloved wife of 51 years, of Rochester Hills, MI.; as well as his loving children, son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kimberly of Gilroy, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Diane of Aubrey, TX; and daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Nathan Rose, of Saginaw, MI; and adoring grandchildren, Michael, Alyssa, Amy, Sarah, Alexis, Alana, Jacob, and Abigail. He is also survived by his brother, Stanley of Mariposa, CA; and his brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Cindy, of San Mateo, CA. Don attended the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned his BS and, later, his MBA degrees. He had a distinguished career in the United States Army, proudly serving his country for 31 years. He later joined the General Dynamics Corporation, from which he retired in 2002 as a Senior Vice President. Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured the time with his loved ones and close friends. He enriched the lives of a great many people, personally and professionally, and he will truly be missed. POLIDORO LEWIS G POLIDORO LEWIS POLIDODO of Pontiac, formerly of Tempe, AZ; died February 15, 2009; at 78 years of age. Brother of Gilbert Polidoro; cousin of Larry and Greg Campagna, John and Michael Heggie and Gary, Steve and John DiBernardo. Mr. Polidoro was a Sergeant with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He received a degree in Pharmacy in Detroit and was also a professor at Arizona State University, where he taught Speech Audiology, in which he had received his Doctorate degree. Lewis was an avid reader, and he also enjoyed playing golf. PRAKKEN JOHN COOK PRAKKEN JOHN PRAKKEN JACK PRAKKEN Jack was born March 25th, 1920 in Highland, Park, MI to Helena Lawrence and William Prakken. He passed away in his home at age 88 in Brighton MI, Saturday January 31, 2009, with his family at his bedside. Jack was preceded in death by his first wife Kathryn Lockwood Prakken, daughter Shauna, brothers Lawrence and Richard Prakken. He is survived by his loving wife Sybil M. Holton Prakken, his children Janet (Robert) Serra, Mark, Lawrence and Andrew (Julie) Prakken, Liana, Edward (Melany) and Mark Holton, as well as his grandchildren Aaron (Rose) Lake, Rachel and Juliet (Nathaniel) Serra, Kaitlin and Adriana Prakken, Isaac Walker, Christopher, Samuel, Joseph, Chad and Melissa Holton, as well as one great-grandchild Ruby Lake. Jack was a veteran and worked 37 years as a Metallurgical Engineer for Chrysler. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Howell, was a distinguished flautist, loved tennis, sailing, traveling, water skiing and playing bridge. Jack was also a devoted Scoutmaster. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, quick wit, and stories of his many wonderful adventures. He will be missed by all.
