After Carl died in 1978, Eve married Jim Coogan, a retired Naval Officer. Following his death in 1992, Eve renewed an old friendship with Dr. John Kitzmiller, Sr. of Bellaire, Michigan. They married in August of 1993 and spent their winters in Naples, Florida and summers at Torch Lake, Michigan, until John'sdeath in 2007. Eve spent her last year of life in Naples where she enjoyed daily swims, water aerobics, reading, crossword puzzles, listening to music, emailing and connecting with family and friends. She was kind, loving and generous and an inspiration to all who were privileged to know her. She is survived by one brother; 6 children; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She lived life beyond the fullest and encouraged all of us, upon her death, to "weep not for me, my soul has wings, and in its freedom sings." Memorial Services will be held in Tawas City and Ontonagon, Michigan in the summer of 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to your local library in Eve's name.
