HALL DOUGLAS L HALL DOUGLAS HALL of Roscommon; passed away February 8, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Douglas was born May 7, 1932 in Pontiac to Reita and Edson Hall. He married Billie on October 15, 1955 in Pontiac. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked at General Motors for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, softball and hunting. Surviving Douglas are his loving wife of 53 years Billie Hall; sons Douglas E. Hall (Josie), Thomas L. Hall (Dawn), Gerald L. Hall, Keenan D. Hall; and daughter Karen Kaffenberger (Steve); ten grandchildren; one great grandson; brothers, Wm. R. Hall (Nadine), Edson F. Hall (Elmyra); sister Anita Burns (Frank); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his brother, Philip (Theresa) Heidelberger, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Edith; three brothers, Louis, George and Joseph; and two sisters, Hilda and Ada. Born in Detroit, Fr. Heidelberger attended Sacred Heart Seminary, Mount St. Mary Seminary in Norwood, Ohio and was ordained a Catholic priest on October 26, 1946, in Detroit. He celebrated his first Mass at St. Leo Church in Detroit. Fr. Heidelberger served as assistant pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Port Huron (1946-51) and Presentation Parish in Detroit (1951-55). From 1955-56, he ministered in the Archdiocesan Charities Office. He was chaplain from 1956-68 at the Wayne County Youth Home juvenile correctional facility. He then served as pastor of Holy Ghost Parish in Detroit (1968-70), St. Ambrose Parish in Grosse Pointe (1970-76) and Visitation Parish in Detroit (1976-89). He achieved senior priest status in 1989. During his ministry, Fr. Heidelberger also was a speaker for the Archdiocese of Detroit Family Life Bureau, and served as part-time chaplain at Providence Hospital in Southfield from 1984-94. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Parish, 15020 Hampton, Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan 48230, with Archbishop Allen Vigneron presiding. Residing in Clinton Twp. for over 40 years. Muriel retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1987. Upon retirement, Muriel volunteered at Mt. Clemens General Hospital. She was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan her whole life. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, casinos, bingo and cards. She remained active and independent until her health deteriorated. During her final year she was a resident of Lake Pointe Villa in Clinton Twp, where she passed peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2009. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Muriel will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in May. She gave her life to Christ at an early age while attending Spring Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Cougar, Mississippi. On December 23, 1950, Alene married David Lee Garrison and joined him in Detroit, Michigan. To this union, seven children were born. Cooking was one of her many pleasures. She liked to cook meals for the sick and shut-in. Her meals would include fried corn, fresh string beans or turnip and mustard greens. She wasn't too bad at baking either.

HOLLEY MARY ELAINE HOLLEY MARY HOLLEY Passed away Wednesday, January 21st after a lengthy illness. Elaine was born on July 3rd, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Amy and Elwood Nowka. A 1954 graduate of Dearborn High School, she received a degree in Education from the University of Michigan in 1958. There she met and married the late Arthur D. Holley and formed many of her life-long friendships. Following a brief career in teaching, Elaine devoted herself to raising a family in Evansville, Indiana. She delighted in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She demonstrated great passion for the game of tennis, a sharp mind for Bridge, and true devotion to her "rescued" dogs. For the past six years, Elaine has resided in Kalamazoo, Michigan allowing her to spend more time with family, renew many old friendships, and again enjoy the Michigan summers she truly loved. She will be remembered for her generosity, warmth, and an unwavering ability to meet life's challenges by focusing on the positive. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Megan, of Richmond, Virginia, son, Scott, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, grandchildren, Claire, Graham, Simon, and Samuel, and brothers Jack, of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin and Jim, of Northville, Michigan. At her request, cremation has taken place.
