GAWURA BERNICE J GAWURA BERNICE GAWURA Age 87 of Brighton, MI passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital. She was born October 3, 1921 in Detroit, MI, a daughter of John and Mary Ann Kobylarz. On May 1, 1948, she was married to William Gawura. They moved to Brighton from Redford Twp. and were previously of Dearborn Heights. Bernice was a long time homemaker. Mrs. Gawura was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She loved Detroit Tiger baseball and opera music. Surviving Bernice is her husband William Gawura, daughters, Mary (Edward) Lezon of Brighton and Laura (Christopher) Sorek of South Lyon, sons, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Gawura of Westland and John (Ann) Gawura of DeWitt. Eight grandchildren, brother Ed (Jeanette) Kobylarz and sister, Alice Shepperd also survive Bernice. She was preceded in death by her son Paul Gawura and grandson Jeremiah Gawura. Caring Father who was proud of his surviving children, Richard Gay, Deborah Gay Edwards, Steven Gay and his ten grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Melvin Gay and sister Helen Gay Reed. Ed had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed working on projects on his farm. He loved fixing up old tractors, planting trees, working in his garden, and feeding all types of animals. Prior to his retirement he worked as a sales representative for the automotive industry. GREIG JIMMY LEE GREIG JIMMY GREIG age 63; long term resident of Waterford, Michigan, currently residing in Brunswick, Georgia; passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009. Mr. Greig was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam and was retired from the West Bloomfield School System. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a great sense of humor and truly loved life. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bettie Anne Venos Greig of Michigan; a son, Christopher Greig of Michigan; a daughter, Melissa Cooper (Gary) of Brunswick; two grandchildren, Reese and Logan Cooper of Brunswick; two brothers, Danny Greig (Terry) and Fred Greig, both of Michigan; mother-in-law, Anna M. Venos of Michigan; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Venos Sikorski (Robert) of Michigan and Nancy Neilson (Jim) of California; and he also leaves behind many good and dear friends. GUTHERIE THOMAS GUTHERIE returned home to his heavenly father. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children Sara Ann (Eric), Thomas, Ellen (Troy), Peter (Luanne) and stepdaughter Shelly (Donny), ten grandchildren, his brother Melvin (Patricia) and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Rosemary. Tom graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953 and from Albion College in 1957. Following graduation, he moved to Greensboro, Georgia, continuing the family lumber mill there. After his long career as President of Greensboro Lumber Company, he wrote several short stories and several novels. Tom was a servant of God, going on mission trips and serving in his church. He will be greatly missed. A service is planned for 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 3, 2009 at the New City Fellowship Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
