LAMB ROBERT LAMB BOB LAMB ROBERT BRUCE LAMB Died at home in Tryon, NC March 1, 2009. Born May 16, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joyce Huey Lamb, and a sister, Bettie Lamb Fairbanks of Michigan. He was predeceased by his first wife, Delphine Kerr Lamb. Bob was a veteran of World War II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and subsequently was detained as a Prisoner of War. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, among other decorations. After graduation from Michigan State University, Bob spent his working career as a partner in the firm Schmidt, Lamb & Smith, Manufacturing Agents to the automotive industry. Foxhunting in Metamora, Michigan was a passionate avocation for many years. Bob was a long-time advocate of animal rights and a loyal supporter of the Salvation Army and Disabled American Veterans. After retiring to Tryon, NC he served on the Board of Directors of the Foothills Humane Society. LAMONT ERIC A LAMONT ERIC LAMONT Age 85, of St. Clair Shores passed away February 27, 2009 at his home. Born in England, graduated from Sandhurst and served in the British Army during World War II with the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry Armoured Regiment as Captain. Wounded during the war and was awarded the Military Cross. Survived by his wife of 48 years; Eleonore; daughters Deborah (Hoshaw) and Susan (Gray); son Leslie; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A private family memorial service is planned. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Milligan and Elizabeth and Scott Latham. Kate was a devoted mother who considered raising her children her most important job. A lifelong resident of Dearborn, she delivered Meals On Wheels with her husband, and volunteered at Snow Elementary School for many years. Kate was also an accomplished artist and a member of the Sweet Adelines. LAWSON MARGARET E LAWSON MARGARET LAWSON died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the age of 92. She was born May 10, 1916 in Bismarck, North Dakota the daughter of Wesley James and Mary Jane (Brandy) Lefler. She achieved her Masters of Education from Wayne State University and worked in both the Southfield and Royal Oak Schools. She enjoyed northern Michigan and was a summer resident of Naubinway and a member of the Hiawatha Sportsman Club in Naubinway. On June 19, 1941 Margaret married Bruce R. Lawson and he preceded her in death in 2007. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (James) Dickson of St. Johns, MI and Janet (Michael) Hampton of Powell, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kristin and David Dickson, Carrie and Nicholas Hampton. Born July 15, 1923 in Syracuse, New York, elder brother to Jeanne Lindsey of Atlanta, GA. Bob Lindsey was a graduate of Syracuse University and Union Theological Seminary, NY. Lindsey married Marilynn Ware. He was founding Pastor of Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church, Lincoln Park, MI 1950-1960. Here, the eldest of three sons were born and his first wife died. Bob married Virginia Herb, and moved to St. Louis, where he served as Founding Pastor of John Calvin Church, Bridgeton, MO 1960-1969, and their youngest son was born. In the summer of 1969, Bob Lindsey began attending the U of M, where he worked for the Office of Ethics and Religion, while earning all but the dissertation for his PhD. 1976-1988, Rev. Lindsey served The Kirk in the Hills, Presbyterian Church of Bloomfield Hills, MI as Associate Pastor until his retirement. Bob loved summers at Torch Lake. Beloved husband of Virginia Herb Lindsey for 50 years.
