Loving mother of Sharon Whitaker and Susan (Paul) Baumgartner. Dearest sister of Theodore (Noleen) Kasey, the late Myron (Sophie) Kasey, and the late Peter (Olga) Kasey. Dear grandmother of Sharron Baumgartner, David Baumgartner, Jenny (Ryan) Fischer, and the late Brian Baumgartner. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, four nieces, one nephew, five grandnieces, and one grandnephew. Early in her career, she worked at Packard Motor Car Co. Eugenia received her BS Degree in Teaching at Wayne State University while in her 60's. She taught at Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Elementary School and retired from the Detroit Public School System at Corvelle Elementary School. After retiring she became very active at The Clinton Township Senior Center where for 17 years, she wrote the monthly byline "Please Meet" in their newsletter. She was honored as the Clinton Township Volunteer Senior Citizen of the Year in 1991. Eugenia also wrote stories about her life memories for the Charter Oaks Co-op monthly booklet. KATZMAN BARNEY KATZMAN was born May 15, 1911 in Brooklyn, New York. He co-founded Prudential Investment Company in 1939. He began his working life as a fruit peddler and bricklayer, and rose to prominence as a pioneering designer and innovator in the post-WWII production housing business, remaining an active developer until his retirement. Barney was an advocate of fitness and a healthy life. He was an avid skier, fisherman, tennis player and walker. Barney's love of the outdoors and adventurous spirit shaped and inspired the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was a mentor and inspiration and admired for his creativity, open-mind, unfailing good humor and his interest in the ideas of others. Above all, Barney was a family man. He was totally devoted to his wife of sixty-four years and to his children. They were, beyond measure, the most important part of his life. He was an abundantly kind and generous man who throughout his long years took care of his immediate family, his parents, his sister and his extended family by marriage. All who knew and loved him will remember and miss greatly his warm smile and gentle spirit and the good and honorable life that he lived. Beloved husband of Jeanette Katzman. After graduation from Wyomissing High School, attended governmental studies at American University in Washington, D.C. Graduated with an Associate Degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Worked as Executive Secretary to the Production Manager at RCA in New Jersey, 1944-1946. Married William Kessler in 1946, moved to Chicago and served as Corresponding Registrar for the Chicago Academy of Arts. Moved to Cambridge, MA in 1948 and worked as Technician Secretary to Professor George Wald, Nobel Prize Laureate, at Harvard University. Moved to Detroit in 1951 and modeled for Hudons, Automotive Companies and the photographer Kawamoto until a family came along in 1953. Served on Boards in a voluntary capacity for the Grosse Pointe PTO Councils, the League of Women Voters, The Detroit Urban League, Wayne State University Center for Teaching about Peace and War, The Grosse Pointe War Memorial, The Detroit Institute of Arts and The Arts Foundation of Michigan and Art/Serve Michigan. Margot wrote poetry in her leisure moments and was an avid sailor, swimmer and tennis player. Married to noted Detroit architect, the late William Kessler, she is survived by daughters, Tamara Checkley, Chevonne Patten, sons-in-law, William Checkley, Michael Patten and three grandsons, Aaron, Alexander and Ariel Wagner. Howard, a loving husband and caring father, was born September 20, 1926, in Highland Park, Michigan, to the late Gerhardt and Annie (Thomas) Klix. He graduated in 1944, from Cooley High School, Detroit. On May 2, 1974, he was united in marriage to Nancy Allen Cook. They would have celebrated 35 years of marriage this year. In 1982, Howard retired from the Michigan Bell Telephone Co., after 36 years of service. He was also a lifetime member of the Farmington Elk's Lodge No. 1986. Howard is survived by his best friend and wife Nancy. He was the caring father of Gregory Alan (Angela), Bradford Devon, and Karen Beth (James) McEvoy. Duane was born in Detroit, Michigan, September 20, 1944 and was a son of the late Harry Emil Knaffle and Frieda Bertha Kohnke Knaffle. He was also predeceased by his wife, Pauline Pinard Knaffle who died March 30, 2008. Duane was a graduate of Bentley High School, Livonia, MI in 1962 and retired from the US Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer after 27 years of service. He was a life member of the DAV; loved traveling and gambling, bingo, fishing, being on the water, the Detroit Lions and he never met a stranger. KOSS HERMAN KOSS Died March 2, 2009 of Pancreatic Cancer. He retired as an administrator for Detroit Public schools after serving at Miller, Osborn, Martin Luther King and Mumford High Schools, Whitney Young Middle School and the Region Eight Office. After retiring he worked for the Grolier Educational Publishing Company. He was a zealous advocate for education, justice and peace. He was born in Detroit April 10, 1922, attended Cass Technical High School and worked as a printing apprentice until enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942, serving in Europe. After the war, he married Mary Lopusniak and earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees at Wayne State University. He was active in many civic organizations including Veterans for Peace. He leaves his wife, Dorothea Hunter, son, Mitchell, daughter-in-law, Amy and two grandchildren, Emily and Ben of Glendale, California, and a host of friends who miss him. She took great joy in providing an endless supply of baked goods and home-cooked meals. No one ever left Mary's kitchen empty-handed or hungry. Her passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of her family, but they are comforted knowing she has entered everlasting life. In June, Mary and Ziggy will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery following a funeral mass in her honor.

Helen was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on February 2, 1920, the daughter of William and Ethel (O'Rourke) Rowan. Helen married Frederick Kramer and he passed away in 1978. Helen worked at the Telegraph Inn as a bar tender. She believed in living everyday to the fullest and loved everyone in her life. She has been living in Shiawassee County since 2005 moving here from Melvindale, MI she also lived in Lincoln Park where she made life long friends. Helen is survived by a son, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three sisters and a brother. KRASNICKI ALAN KRASNICKI ALAN ANTHONY KRASNICKI passed away Wednedsay, March 18,2009 at the age of 52. He was senior class president at Lincoln High School in Warren in 1974. Alan's musical talent on the piano entertained family and friends for many years. He also was a talented singer and song writer with two of his original songs on the soundtrack of the Jeff Daniels movie "Super Sucker". KRUPP DAVID W KRUPP DAVID KRUPP 78, was born in Fremont, Ohio on February 2, 1931, the son of Walter and Mary Krupp. He spent most of his early life in Port Clinton, OH, where he graduated from HS as a member of the National Honor Society. He earned 12 varsity letters in football, basketball and track and was named to the second All-Ohio teams in two of these sports. He attended U of M on a basketball scholarship and was a member of the varsity basketball team for 3 years. He as a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Afterwards becoming publicity mgr. at Greenfield Village, and later spent 35 years in public relations with Ford Motor Co. including 9 years as regional mgr. of its west coast PR office where he kept a home in Newport Beach, CA. After retiring from Ford, he was a consultant for J. Walter Thompson. In his later years he kept homes in Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Rancho Mirage, CA, where he was a member of The Springs Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline; son David Krupp Jr. and daughter-in-law, Cindy; daughters, Katherine Frasher and Claire Brull, son-in-law, Douglas Frasher, and grandchildren, Garrett, Olivia, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Grace; sisters, Elizabeth Fagan and Jane Ewers, and brother-in-law, Conrad. He was a volunteer and youth ice hockey player for Dom Polski Club of Montreal. He loved us all and he had a warm spot in his heart for everyone he met.
