She was born on April 24, 1950, in Oakland County, daughter of the late Harley and Myrtle (Stone) Ferree. She attended schools in Pontiac and had worked at the Fox and Hounds Restaurant. Kathleen loved to cook. Her hobbies included computers, flowers, crocheting, astrology and going for rides in her car. Kathleen was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by 3 sons, Christopher (Amanda) Page, Dane (Lisa) Page and Shawn Page; by 12 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Harley Grant (Connie) Ferree, II, Brian (Diana) Ferree and Brent (Janna) Ferree; two sisters, Tami (James) Robinson and Dianne (Ron) Battle. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Shane Page. PAYNE WALTER A PAYNE JR M D WALTER PAYNE JR MD Former longtime Grosse Pointe Farms resident Walter A. Payne Jr., M.D., 91, died Sunday, April 5, 2009. Dr. Payne was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Corbin, Kentucky. to Walter A. Payne and Minnie Freeman Payne. He attended high school in Corbin, then received his bachelor's degree from Berea College. He attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia earning his medical degree in 1944. Dr. Payne continued at Jefferson in an internship position before entering the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 1945. He served nearly three years in the European Theatre. He was discharged as a captain in 1948 and worked as a physician in the student health department of Cornell University. Dr. Payne then went to the University of Alabama Medical School to work under Dr. Tinsley R. Harrison, later serving as his chief resident. While in Alabama, Dr. Payne met and married Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Berney in 1952. That same year he was invited to work in the internal medicine department of Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. He retired in 1997 after 45 years of practice. Dr. Payne had many interests among them history, literature and the fine arts. He is survived by his son, Robert B. (Susan) Payne; daughter, Gena E. Callison and grandchildren, Max R. Canché and Sara A. Canché. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty and son, Walter A. Payne III. She was born in April 9, 1920 to Giselle and Jacob Newman in Detroit, Michigan and was a longtime resident of Waterford, Michigan. Lover, wife, mother, friend, reader and teacher, Sarah was known for her laughter and good nature. Born in the worst of times, she lived through the best of times. She always hoped for the best. She cherished and was cherished by her husband, Jerry, for 64 years. She taught her children to believe in themselves. She was born on August 22, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois to Kazimier and Antanina (Kairitus) Norvainis. She married her husband, Glen, on September 27, 1939 in Chicago. Anne was a member of Pythian Sisters in Michigan for 50 years from 1957 - 2007. She and Glen moved to Rhinelander in 2000 from Waterford, Michigan. They loved to travel together in their Airstream Travel Trailer. Glen preceded her in death on January 22, 2001. Anne enjoyed playing cards and gardening. Anne is survived by her niece, Shirley (Matt) Slesicki of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; her grand-nieces, Kathi (Don) Stradley and Karen (Michael) Zettler, both of Rhinelander; and grand-nephew, Michael (Jean) Slesicki of Tomahawk, Wisconsin; 13 great-nieces and nephews; and 3 great great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Kazimier, and her sister, Stella Younger. "Bob" (Lori) Pursley; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Susalla and Dolores Parsons; many nieces and nephews.
