OELKERS THEODORE F OELKERS THEODORE OELKERS April 17, 2009, age 91. He was born April 5, 1918 in Detroit, but spent most of his life in Dearborn. He served his country in the Army for five years as an Artillery officer and left the Army as a First Lieutenant. His work was in retail sales at Daly Brothers Furniture in Dearborn and then at Jacobson's from which he retired. He was also a member of the Dearborn Kiwanis Club. Beloved husband of Jean. Dear father of Robert (Rhonda). Brother of the late Henry Oelkers and Edna Billmeyer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is a life member at Pine Lake Country Club, Orchard Lake, MI and a member of The Club Pelican Bay, Naples, FL, where he served on the board. Mr. Ostrander proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 182 Airborne - "Screaming Eagles" during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and loved many outdoor activities, including playing golf. Loving husband of 30 years to Cecelia; caring father of Frank (Colette) Cipponeri, Joseph (Tracey) Cipponeri and Michael (Heather) Cipponeri; proud grandfather of Tony, Corine, Chelsea, Allen and Allison; brother of Louis (Louise) Ostrander; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
