LAUINGER LARRY LAUINGER LONG LAUINGER age 49; died April 4, 2009, after a brief illness. Larry moved to the Florida Keys from "the frozen tundra" (Michigan) in 1982. He loved spending time with friends, watching the Keys sunsets from the waters edge, and fixing anything mechanical, from carnival rides and heavy machinery to cars. He will be missed by his parents, Jerome and Clara Lauinger of Pontiac; siblings Anna (Marty) Baird of Big Pine Key, Florida, Jerome J. LAWSON JACK M LAWSON JACK LAWSON age 84, of Royal Oak, died April 13, 2009. He was born December 26, 1924 in Detroit to Clyde and Grace Lawson. Mr. Lawson graduated from Royal Oak High and served in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard during WWII. He worked many years at the family lumber and sporting goods business and was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, Royal Oak. An avid golfer, he shot a hole-in-one at age 14, at Red Run. He was a life member of Royal Oak Lodge 464 F & AM, a former member of the Royal Oak Optimist Club and he enjoyed wood carving, bowling, cruising, traveling and his classic Buick. Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Fife); sons, Jim (Maureen) of Royal Oak, Steve (Pat) of Troy and Dave (Becky) of Richmond; sisters, Jean (Art) Laurie of Royal Oak and Helen (Dick) Atamian of California; granddaughters, Amy, Julie, Holly, Rhonda, Emily and Christine and great-granddaughter, Kora. LOWRY THOMAS K LOWRY THOMAS LOWRY 67, resident of Grosse Pointe Shores, MI, Harbor Springs, MI, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Passed away Friday, April 3, 2009, surrounded by his family and friends. T.K. was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Robert Kenning Lowry and Jane Buckley Lowry. T.K. attended West Virginia University on a basketball scholarship, and was inducted into the WVU Sports Hall of Fame on September 22, 2007. He earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from WVU in 1965. He was a manufacturer's representative servicing the automotive industry as President of T.K. Lowry Sales, Inc. and Lowry Group, Inc. T.K. was an avid and highly skilled sailor, loved competitive sailing, and sharing those passions with family and friends. He was known for his warmth and his winning smile and for his love of life. Nothing was more important to him than his family and friends. T.K. will be remembered not only by his immediate family, but by the many friends whose lives he touched over the years. His passion for life and love of others will be his enduring legacy. T.K. was a member of Bayview Yacht Club, Little Traverse Yacht Club, the Country Club of Detroit, and Pine Lake Country Club. He was also member of the Storm Trysail Club, the One Hundred Club of Detroit, and the Manufacturers Agents National Association. T.K. is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Bostic Lowry; his daughter H. Elizabeth Lowry and her husband, Carl Melchior, of Grosse Pointe, MI; his son T. Kirk Lowry III and his wife, Gwen Hardman Lowry, of Charlotte, NC; his son Adam K. Lowry and his wife, Mara Holian Lowry, of San Francisco, California; five grandchildren Michael Robert Schudlich, Ryan Thomas Schudlich, Andrew Carl Melchior, Eliza Catherine Lowry, and Kenning Louise Lowry; and two sisters Ann Lowry Coe, of Ada, Ohio, and Lynn Lowry Crook, of Raleigh, NC. He was predeceased by his brother George Robert Lowry, of Jupiter, Florida. A celebration of T.K.'s life will be held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte, NC, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009. The family will receive friends following the celebration.
